Antigone Abriged by Katimazie Antigone Abriged by Katimazie
My various English teachers last school year (We went through two, the first left out of personal concerns when hell started going down systemwise) were big on letting me do Unorthodox projects for class, and this is one of them. They were pretty cool people.

This is probably funnier if you have read Antigone, but if not, just trust me that it has people going "OH MAN I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING" all over the place. The characters in it, that is.

Ha! This surprisingly does get the basic plot across. There was a guy in my drama class who pronounced Creon like "Crayon". XD

I LOVED Antigone, but the basic plotline was just hilarious. Especially Kreon.

We read Antigone lately and we have to summarize it in a short movie or a photostory and so on. Your summary is absolutely to the point! xD

Lol. That is so true. I had to read Antigone and at the end people in my class were like "it's so sad. Why couldn't we have read something happy" and I was like "its sad. No duh. It's a tragedy."

I'm studying Antigone in preparation to do a comic of it for my capstone project in college... I think this right here just summarized it better than I ever could. A+.

I love that Creon's hair is so spiky...perhaps it stands up due to being overcharged with his rage? :D

Probably the best summary I have see so far XD I love this play to bits, but it is impossible to ignore the funniness of the whole thing XD (If you care, I'm playing Creon in the third panel, so that one made me laugh in particular XD)

This is the best. I am looking for Antigone symbolism and this is superb. I love it. I'd say poor Creon, but who gives a damn about him?

Man I would go to that play if he said that. Then again if a modernized version of the play was done it'd be over pretty quick.

I would probably enjoy the play more if I hadn't covered it 3+ times in school, it gets a bit old watching everybody die that many times. Come to think of it, that probably had a lot to do with how this turned out.

Thanks!

Yeah, among the three main tragedy writers of Ancient Greece, Sophocles is probably the one who introduces the most dynamic storylines. Which is ironic considering tragedy is all about fate being determined in advance. ^^
But the "oh snap !" quality of Antigone is nothing in comparison with Hamlet. "What ? ANOTHER death ? Are we done yet ?"
Anyway, the expressions are cute. You perfectly capture the guard's cowardly attitude.

I had thoughts of doing a similar abridged version of Romeo and Juliet, based on the time I saw my then-English classmates reenact the first act with Nerf guns. I think more Shakespeare tragedies need a sideline tally of how many people snuff it during the story, to tell the truth.

I'm thrilled you noted the guard's reaction, because I actually was trying to get across how scared he was of Creon. YAY SOMEONE CAUGHT THAT. :D
